Kongsberg Digital, part of KONGSBERG, and MacGregor, part of Cargotec, have entered into a collaboration agreement to test the interface of MacGregor’s OnWatch Scout condition monitoring and predictive maintenance service within Kongsberg Digital’s Vessel Insight data infrastructure solution.

ALE performed an 18,000t topside load-out and floatover transportation from a yard in Zhuhai, China. The topside will form part of a new offshore platform in the South China Sea to support natural gas development in the region.

The satellite was lifted into orbit by an Ariane 5 launch vehicle from the Ariane Launch Complex No. 3 (ELA-3) in Kourou, French Guiana.

Following the formation of OneOcean, Martin Taylor, the new firm’s CEO, has outlined its ambitions to accelerate change and “connect the whole maritime industry”. OneOcean is now the largest digital solutions provider in the maritime sector and will bring down barriers between ship and shore-side teams through its increasingly interconnected maritime technology.

Inmarsat and ABB Marine & Ports, two driving forces behind maritime digitalization, have signed a milestone Master Supply Agreement. The implementation of the agreement tackles an obstacle identified by ship owners themselves which has stopped them using IoT (Internet of Things) technology.

Wärtsilä has been selected to supply a comprehensive package of solutions for two new state-of-the-art vessels being built for the Netherlands-based shipping company Spliethoff. The ships are under construction at the Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding yard in China. The order with Wärtsilä is booked in November 2019.

The main development in Kazakhstan’s Kashagan field is D-Island, a structure built on recovered land that typically outputs 340,000 barrels per day. Due to reaching the end of its service life, both its flare tips required replacement. This work was to be carried out during a tight shutdown window.

Real-time wave measurements can dispel some of the guesswork historically associated with the planning and execution of marine operations such as pipe laying, subsea installations, heavy lifting operations, work-overs, or inspections.
