Independent engineering consultancy, SLPE, is thrilled to witness the realization of its offshore substation (OSS) substructure design as both the substructure and platform for Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm begin to take shape, representing visible progress for this significant Scottish project.

TechnipFMC (NYSE: FTI) (the “Company”) has been selected to deliver the first all-electric integrated project by the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP), a joint venture between bp, Equinor, and TotalEnergies. The NEP is building carbon dioxide transportation and storage infrastructure for carbon capture projects in the United Kingdom’s East Coast Cluster.

DNV has handed over a Statement of Conformity to Moss Maritime for their design brief outlining the design methodology for their concept called XolarSurf. This marks a significant milestone in the development of their technology. The recognition helps pave the way for further developments for floating solar in exposed waters and the opportunity of providing clean energy close to shore without the use of area on land.

Saipem has signed a Letter of Intent, received by the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP), a joint venture between the operator bp, Equinor, and TotalEnergies, and Net Zero Teesside Power (NZT Power), a joint venture between bp and Equinor, stating that the company has been selected for the award of the NEP and Net Zero Teesside Power (NZT) projects. The two projects are related to the development of CO2 offshore transportation and storage facilities to the East Coast Cluster in the United Kingdom.

On March 21, 2024, the US Department of Energy's (DOE) Wind Energies Technologies Office (WETO) announced plans to invest $5.1 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law in research and technology development to advance modeling and analysis for next-generation offshore wind turbine blades. These efforts aim to facilitate accelerated development and deployment of cost-effective offshore wind energy technology in order to reach the Biden-Harris Administration's goal of 30 gigawatts of offshore wind energy by 2030.

SeaTwirl and Verlume Ltd. have entered an MoU with the purpose of identifying and pursuing potential opportunities to work together on the decarbonization of offshore oil and gas and other associated offshore electrification opportunities, using renewable power and seabed-based energy storage and intelligent energy management. The aim is to enable commercial sales of bespoke systems using the companies’ combined technologies as a solution.

On March 14, Governor Kathy Hochul, alongside the United States Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland and other elected officials, announced the completion of the landmark South Fork Wind project, with all 12 offshore wind turbines constructed and the wind farm successfully delivering power to Long Island and the Rockaways. This marks a historic milestone as New York becomes home to America’s first utility-scale offshore wind farm.
