Damen Shipyards Group and leading shipping group CMA CGM are beginning a cooperation that will ultimately result in around 10 of the latter’s vessels receiving significant modifications. These will deliver fuel efficiencies of more than 10 percent. The upgrades will take place at Damen Shiprepair Dunkerque (DSDu) and Damen Shiprepair Amsterdam (DSAm), which between them have some of Europe’s largest dry docks and many years’ experience in complex refits and retrofits.

MAN Energy Solutions and Svitzer have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on the development of a methanol-fueled version of the MAN 175D engine. Designated 175DF-M (Dual Fuel-Methanol), the MoU targets the finalization of a field-test agreement based on which a dual-fuel engine and plant equipment will be installed on board one of Svitzer’s newbuild tugs.

The multinational inspection, certification, ship classification and engineering consultancy, RINA, has awarded Kindon New Energy Technology (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. the Approval in Principle (AiP) for its innovative green methanol offshore production platform solution. Produced entirely offshore, the methanol is derived from renewable CO2 through DAC (Direct Air Capture) technology and green hydrogen from offshore wind power water electrolysis technology.

Green Ships Invest, a pioneer in design/procurement of environmentally friendly ship designs, and Amogy, provider of mature, scalable and efficient ammonia-to-power solutions, have solidified their partnership by signing a groundbreaking contract to deploy carbon-free electrical Platform Supply Vessels (ePSVs) through the purchase of Amogy’s technology. This agreement builds upon the existing partnership between Green Ships Invest and Amogy, which began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in October 2023.

Kraken Technology Group, a maritime technology leader specializing in the disruptive design and manufacturing of high-performance platforms, and Auterion, the company building the software-defined future for mobile robotics and powering the world’s leading drone manufacturers, have announced a strategic partnership to exponentially develop autonomous capabilities in the high-performance littoral security boat sector.

Eni, a global energy company, Fincantieri, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups, and the only one active in all high-tech marine industry sectors, and RINA, a multinational inspection, certification, and engineering consultancy, have signed an agreement to develop joint initiatives for the energy transition. The partnership formalizes the commitment to develop joint projects, in line with the partners' strategies, to decarbonize the maritime sector in the medium to long term with the goal of Net Zero by 2050. Additionally, the establishment of a permanent global observatory regarding future technological, regulatory, and market developments will be evaluated.

Rem Offshore and Myklebust Verft have signed a contract for the construction of an Energy Subsea Construction Vessel (ESCV) with a 250-ton crane. The vessel will be delivered in 2026 and will be the first of its kind that can perform heavy construction work in both offshore wind and subsea with net zero emissions. The contract also contains an option to build one more vessel.

Ocean Infinity, a world leader in robotic and uncrewed vessel technology, is pleased to announce the signing of a Global Framework Agreement (GFA) with Shell, marking a significant milestone in the provision of lean-crewed and robotic seabed geomatics, spanning geophysical and geotechnical services, within the offshore energy sector.
