After several years of research & development (R&D) Eco Marine Power (EMP) announced today that it has developed a new type of sail device for ships. This sail device known as a SailetTM (patent pending) can increase the propulsive forces created by EMP’s patented EnergySail® and can also be used as a stand-alone sail-assisted propulsion or energy saving device.

Prysmian Group, world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry, together with Giancarlo Pedote, solo ocean sailor and skipper aboard of the Prysmian Group IMOCA, announces the launch of the Sailing4Ocean project, in partnership with the Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climate Change (CMCC) to monitor the state of the oceans' health using the Group’s proprietary PRY-CAM technology.

The measurement data will help lower uncertainties in the expected annual energy production for new offshore wind farms.

TDI-Brooks International, Inc. recently completed the final report for Contract M17PC00009, issued by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management [BOEM]), titled “Deepwater Atlantic Habitats II: Continued Atlantic Research and Exploration in Deepwater Ecosystems with Focus on Coral, Canyon and Seep Communities.”

Damen Shipyards Cape Town (DSCT) has successfully delivered a new plough tug to the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA). The plough tug, named Mohoma, is a versatile, seagoing workboat designed for both harbor and coastal services.
