Inmarsat, a world leader in global mobile satellite communications, will extend its unique ‘three-in-one’ Fleet LTE coverage for offshore service vessels to the Gulf of Mexico, following successful trials with V.Ships Offshore in the North Sea area.

Leading davit supplier Vestdavit has secured an agreement with Austal Australia to deliver twelve boat launch-and-recovery systems for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). The marine davits will be installed on six new Cape-class patrol boats (CCPBs), under construction for the Navy at Austal’s Henderson shipyard in Western Australia.



Kongsberg Maritime (KM) has reinforced two long-standing business relationships with the news that it is to design and equip the third wellboat in a series to be built for Sølvtrans Rederi by the Myklebust Verft yard in Gursken, Norway. KM estimates the value of this contract to be approximately NOK 45 million.

On September 11^th, Damen Shipyards Group launched a Marine Aggregate Dredger (MAD) 3500 at its Galati yard in Romania. Damen is building the MAD for UK-based Hanson. The company will use the vessel to conduct offshore aggregate extraction in water depths up to -55 meters in the North Sea and English Channel.

The technology group Wärtsilä has won a contract for the delivery and integration engineering of two Retractable Thrusters and a Dynamic Positioning (DP) system for the CCGS Amundsen, a Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) Icebreaker. The order with Wärtsilä was placed in July.
