Subsea UK members are being invited to present on a number of current industry topics at the conference. Speakers already confirmed include; Wood, Rovco, Enpro Subsea, Vulcan SFM and Imes International.

Interested companies are invited to submit abstracts for papers on the following topics; Inspection, Maintenance and Repair, Safety and Integrity of Underwater Facilities, Underwater Robotics Technology and AI, Deepwater Developments, and Marginal Fields and Long Tiebacks.

Companies that attend the event will also have the opportunity to attend networking events, including a reception at the high commission, and build relationships in the region.

Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK, said: “The industry has made an outstanding effort in recent years to innovate and overcome the wider oil and gas industry downturn. We are now seeing business across the supply chain starting to pick-up again and with this comes the opportunity for companies to look at how they can expand in both the UK and global market.

“Southeast Asia has more than 400 active offshore fields and the challenges facing the sector, such as maturing fields and aging infrastructure, reflect those facing the UK. The Department of International Trade (DIT) reported a significant uplift to exports in Asia in 2018 and this is expected to continue to increase, making the region an attractive opportunity for companies”

The show is Malaysia’s main oil and gas event and has been running since 1987. Between 2011 and 2015 the number of exhibitors increased by 44% and the number of attendees increased by 48%. The growth in the number of attendees is in part a consequence of Malaysia becoming the petroleum industries regional centre.
