Havila Shipping ASA has been awarded three-year contracts for the Havila Charisma and Havila Foresight platform supply vessels. Both contracts include four one-year options and have a total framework of close to NOK 800 million.

On December 4th, at Song Cam Shipyard in Vietnam, the world’s first fully-electric ship-handling tug of 70 tonnes bollard pull – the Damen RSD-E Tug 2513 – was launched into the water. Damen is building the vessel to supports its customer, New Zealand’s Ports of Auckland, in achieving its ambitious sustainability targets. 


MODEC has placed an order for six compressor trains for an FPSO (floating production storage and offloading) unit, which will be deployed on the Sangomar field approximately 100 km south of Dakar, Senegal. Together with the nearby Rufisque and Sangomar Offshore blocks, it is one of the world’s largest oil & gas discoveries of the last decade.

Leading boat-handling systems manufacturer Vestdavit Inc. has won a tender with Halter Marine in Pascagoula, Mississippi to supply marine davits for the United States Coast Guard’s new Polar Security Cutter (PSC). The 460-foot vessel will support U.S. operations in Arctic and Antarctic waters.

On December 3rd, in Hamburg, Damen Shipyards Group signed a contract with Opus Marine for the delivery of a Fast Crew Supplier (FCS) 2710, to be named Allegro. The company will operate the vessel in support of its charterers, serving the offshore wind industry in the German section of the North Sea. 


While designing and producing davit systems that are fully operational in ‘normal’ conditions up to Sea State 6 is a challenge in itself, Vestdavit continues to win plaudits and orders from Navies, Coast Guards and Seismic Vessel Operators worldwide for its Polar Systems.  

VIKING Life-Saving Equipment is driving more investment into its marine fire service business. The inauguration of VIKING’s Foam Lab Odense, which specializes in the testing of a vessel’s reserves of firefighting foam, intensifies the company’s focus on marine fire service, a segment earmarked for significant growth in the coming years.
