NOIA: OPEC+ Cuts Are Welcome News

NOIA President Erik Milito issued the following statement after OPEC+ and the G20 reached a deal to cut approximately 10 million barrels per day of oil production:

"NOIA welcomes President Trump's diplomatic outreach and attention to diffusing the oil price war between Saudi Arabia and Russia. This is good news for American energy workers and energy consumers around the world. However, we are hopeful that additional policy tools will be deployed to help support the U.S. energy industry.

“Countless companies along the Gulf Coast that keep American energy flowing still face existential pressures and sustained U.S. policy action is needed to keep America energy strong. American energy production - especially the offshore - provide safe and environmentally-responsible oil and natural gas that make our modern lives possible. President Trump should utilize his full policy toolkit, including offshore royalty relief and lease extensions."

The National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) represents and advances a dynamic and growing offshore energy industry, providing solutions that support communities and protect our workers, the public and our environment.
