Reach Subsea has acquired Subvision AB, a Swedish company founded in 1993 and staffed by its two founders Per Gunnarsson and Olle Kröling.
Subvision has extensive experience from military and offshore development projects, providing strong expertise in designing equipment for subsea environments. Over the years, the company has developed several advanced solutions for underwater use.
The relationship between Reach Subsea and Subvision is not entirely new. In recent years, Subvision has supported Reach Subsea with both technology and expertise in selected deliveries, including systems for detection of UXO (unexploded ordnance) and buried pipelines.
“The cooperation with Subvision AB has been very successful, and together we have achieved strong results. We see great value in taking this collaboration further as part of our permanent organization,” said Audun Brandtzæg, CTO of Reach Subsea.
Through the acquisition, Reach Subsea strengthens its capabilities within a highly specialized area of subsea technology, while also welcoming two experienced employees to Reach Subsea’s technology development department. Although Subvision is a small company, its proven solutions have earned a strong reputation in relevant market segments, and the synergies between the two companies are strong.
Additionally, this acquisition enhances Reach Subsea’s surveillance technology for critical infrastructure, ensuring robust real-time monitoring through mobile and fixed systems. This also bolsters the capabilities in defence applications, providing advanced solutions for national security.
