Ocean Signal Achieves ISO 9001:2015 Certification

Ocean Signal Ltd, global leaders in communication and safety at sea technology, has achieved the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 standard for Quality Management Systems.

The emergency rescue beacon and marine safety systems specialist is certified as operating in compliance with the internationally recognized accreditation after successfully fulfilling the criteria for the provision of product design, manufacture, sales, distribution and after care services for life saving, communication and navigation devices.

Demonstrating Ocean Signal’s continued commitment to the highest levels of quality management and customer satisfaction at its expanded headquarters and factory in Margate, UK, the ISO endorsement was received following an assessment by SAI Global Assurance and is valid for three years.

Phil Talbot, Director of Operations and Quality, Ocean Signal Ltd, said: “We are delighted to achieve our new certification to ISO 9001:2015 and to meet the challenging criteria. I would like to extend a massive thank you to the team here for making it happen. Our drive for this standard is focused around business excellence and continuous improvement and the alignment the business now has with its strategic intent and overall business objectives. Through this, we have engaged our staff in our Operational Excellence journey to be World Class.”

Ocean Signal, an ACR Electronics brand, has reported impressive growth in the past 10 years, emerging as one of the world’s foremost innovators in the survival and safety beacon sector.

Last year, the company tripled the size of its business with a move into a new 19,200 square foot factory, significantly boosting production capacity for distribution to a global network of dealers and partners. During the past four years, Ocean Signal has almost doubled the number of company personnel, with specific focus on developing its strong research and development team.

Ocean Signal’s comprehensive product range, renowned for combining advanced technology with compact design, ease of use and regulatory compliance, has developed to include EPIRBs, Personal Locator Beacons, SARTs, AIS and Man Overboard devices, electronic flares, VHF and more.

With more than a million organizations certified to ISO 9001, it is the most widely recognized standard in the world and sets out guidelines for superior Quality Management Systems (QMS) which suit individual needs and reflect current trends including new technology, greater access to information, higher customer expectations and globalization. It requires businesses to demonstrate continuous improvement, while implementing efficient and streamlined operations, with the aim of satisfying more customers and building a sustainable company.
