Operator Confidence in Churchill’s Downhole Drilling Tools Continues to Grow Across the Middle East

Churchill Drilling Tools, a global oilfield service company specializing in drilling innovation, has revealed a record demand for its technologies and services in the Middle East as it approaches its third anniversary in the region.

Nicholas Kjaer 4Operator demand for the company’s flagship tool, the smart dart activated DAV MX™ CircSub, is unprecedented across the globe and the Middle East in particular. With more than 150 runs in the region already this year, the company is reporting more than 60% growth so far in 2018 and is predicting orders to more than double by the end of December.

Churchill also reported rising demand right across its product lines. The number of operators in the Middle East running the HyPR™ Holesaver™, the safest low cost means of recovering from stuck pipe, has doubled in the last two years. Operator demand remains significant for Churchill’s downhole pipe drift verification tool, the Drift Catcher™ and its latest product, the Self Filling Float Trigger™, the fastest and simplest float system on the market.

Churchill’s General Manager in the Middle East, Nicholas Kjaer, said: “In just three years, we’ve enjoyed exceptional growth in the region. Operators have overwhelmingly welcomed our technology creating a demand that has exceeded our expectations.”

Explaining why the company has enjoyed such rapid growth Nicholas said: “Middle East operators demand tools that are reliable, resilient and flexible which are simple to use and cut operating time. They want a partner that can provide 24/7 specialist and operational support, delivered by an experienced, committed and quality team. I’m proud that the quality of our tools and the exceptional talent and commitment of our team has established Churchill as one of the leading service companies in the region.”

He added: “Three years ago we entered a market that showed signs of recovery, but ultimately was still struggling. Today the Middle East energy market is buoyant and consequently we’re seeing operators become increasingly supportive of new technology. Drilling Engineers are now more inclined to focus on value and not necessarily the lowest price when considering the most effective tools to deploy.”

Nicholas Kjaer will be available on the Churchill Drilling Tools stand (8556) at ADIPEC 2018, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from 12-15 November.

Churchill’s range of industry-leading dart activated technologies has redefined and improved many of the oil and gas industry’s existing downhole processes, from exploration through to abandonment. Quick and easy to deploy, the company’s suite of smart darts has delivered thousands of hours of savings to operators worldwide.

Nicholas added: “Our growth in the Middle East has been matched by significant investment in infrastructure, talent and servicing capabilities. It is an extremely exciting market for us and we’re confident the strength of our customer proposition and our commercial strategy will ensure continued growth in the region.”
