Seatools, a leading provider of subsea hydraulic components and systems, stepped up its standardized hydraulic solutions bid with a new range of subsea hydraulic power units (SHPUs). The range offers a number of high-performance SHPUs that stand out in robustness, compactness, and ease of integration. The powerpacks come as true plug-and-play solutions.

Norway has over the years taken several steps to reduce its upstream emissions through electrifying offshore platforms, reducing flaring volumes, installing carbon capture and storage (CCS), and other energy efficiency measures. Power from shore to offshore platforms already started in 1996 when Troll East (A) came on-stream, with the Johan Sverdrup field as the latest addition in 2019.

Based on currently available geophysical data, the Lebanese government estimates that the offshore oil and gas frontier areas in the East Mediterranean may hold around 25 trillion cubic feet of natural gas reserves, though this has yet to be proven. An initial exploration well is expected to be drilled in block 4 by the end of 2019, or in early 2020.
