The Norwegian ocean-technology company, Kongsberg Discovery, introduces a new analysis tool developed in partnership with underwater imaging specialist Cathx Ocean that radically reduces the time and effort required to detect and classify objects of interest in seabed surveys undertaken by Kongsberg's market leading HUGIN autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), reducing costs for survey owners and freeing up valuable resources to focus on more important tasks.

Saab and Damen Shipyards have agreed to export the advanced Expeditionary C-71 submarines. CEO of Damen Shipyards Arnout Damen and CEO of Saab Micael Johansson made the decision this week to export together the submarine, which has been developed for the Royal Netherlands Navy to replace the current Walrus class. The agreement doubles the long-term prospect of employment and income for the Netherlands Naval Cluster with the replacement of the Walrus submarines by Saab-Damen.

CSA Ocean Sciences Inc. (CSA), a prominent marine environmental consulting and survey company headquartered in Stuart, Florida, US, has recently inked a significant franchise agreement with Reef Arabia, a Bahrain-based enterprise. This partnership, sealed in January 2024, authorizes CSA to manufacture and install Reef Arabia’s innovative "Majfara Reef Replacement System" and "Seamount" artificial reef units across various territories, including US domains such as the Gulf of Mexico and Hawaii, as well as regions in South America and the Caribbean.

UTEC, a geo-services brand in Acteon’s Data and Robotics division, conducted a day of ‘Gavia’ Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) trials off Fremantle in Western Australia. The AUV has recently undergone significant upgrades and the addition of new modules including the subsea ultra-short baseline (USBL) aiding the vehicle inertial navigation system (INS) positioning.
