Seanergy 2022 to be Held in La Havre, France

Installation of the first offshore wind turbine of the 1st French commercial wind farm, launch of the Siemens Gamesa offshore wind turbine factory, visit in Le Havre for of the French President candidate Emmanuel Macron… In the last few days, the offshore renewable energies have been at the heart of the news.

In this positive context, where Offshore wind and Marine Renewable Energies (MRE) are becoming one of France's strengths to respond in an innovative and positive way to the challenges of energy transition, Seanergy, organised by Bluesign since 2016, will bring together the international players of the sector, from June 15 to 17th in Le Havre.

After its editions in Le Havre in 2017 and Cherbourg in 2018, Seanergy returns to Normandy, a region with major assets in the development of marine energy: offshore wind farms under construction, powerful current for tidal power, significant presence of actors, adapted and dynamic port infrastructures to accommodate these markets.

Seanergy 2022 will gather 3,500 international players and 230 exhibitors from all over the world, covering all the technologies in the sector (fixed and floating wind, tidal energy, wave energy, marine thermal energy, floating solar energy, etc.), around 80 industrial and technical talks and presentations, 500 business meetings and immersive technical visits reflecting the acceleration dynamics underway in this sector for the production of low-carbon energy.

Mark Lafosse, oceanographer by training, President of Bluesign, organizer of Seanergy, said:
“Since the Government’s recent announcement of 40 GW of installed offshore wind power by 2050 and the construction of 50 wind farms to support and facilitate the projects, particularly with the current global energy crisis, the entire industry is becoming even more actively involved in the massive development of renewable energy. In this context, Seanergy is more than ever mobilized to the annual federating event for the promotion and gathering of the sector, a real business tool for the entire ecosystem.”

The program for this 6th edition includes many highlights and new features:

The holding of the 8th edition of the Assises Nationales des énergies marines renouvelables, organized by the Syndicat des énergies renouvelables (SER), prior to the opening of Seanergy, on June 14th.

New formats within the forum and exhibition area, on June 15 and 16th

  • An area of static and dynamic demonstrations with specific sessions: drones, ROV, floating wind turbine.
  • A citizen exhibition on the quay in front of the exhibition, to initiate exchanges with the general public.

Key themes addressed during the exchanges and conferences

For this new edition, the issues of energy and industrial sovereignty will represent a structuring component of the conference program.

  • Accelerated decarbonization of the global energy mix: what about offshore energy?
  • Reindustrialization and relocation of industrial and service jobs.
  • Floating wind energy driven by an extremely dynamic French market and a competitive and enthusiastic international emulation.
  • Tidal and wave energy and other MREs: focus on progress made, prospects, challenges of lowering costs and development projections in the perspective of the 2024 EPP.
  • Maritime hydrogen: cross synergies to be implemented as a priority with the offshore energy sector.
  • A series of technical visits, on June 17th, of industrial sites in Normandy to get a concrete overview of projects and works in development.
