Keynote Speaker Announced for Offshore Wind Implementation Summit 2018

US Deputy Secretary of the Interior, David Bernhardt, is tapped to deliver the keynote address at the inaugural event, Offshore Wind Implementation Summit 2018, to be held at the Teaneck Marriott at Glenpointe in Teaneck, NJ., on September 5 – 7, 2018.

1 OffshoreWindImplementation Masthead 1920x553David Bernhardt's keynote address will focus on the future of Offshore Wind in New Jersey, a state that has mandated the development of 3.5 Gigawatts of Offshore Wind power by 2030.

As states throughout the US coastal regions continue to make commitments to the development of Offshore Wind power, developers and businesses are preparing the implementation phase of numerous energy projects in the pipeline.

Offshore Wind Implementation will bring together key utilities senior executives, state and federal regulators, offshore leaseholders, investors and developers to explore how to implement offshore wind projects - from preparing ports for staging offshore wind, to taking advantage of tax benefits and incentive programs.

2 DavidBernhardtThe summit will include twelve-panel sessions led by key industry leaders and will delve into topics concerning permitting, siting, local content requirements in construction and operations, interconnection, environmental risks to wildlife and more. The summit will kick-off with an Executive Briefing that will include discussions on infrastructure investments, establishing a cost-effective Offshore Wind supply chain, and evaluating the environmental risks of Offshore Wind projects.
