Bluefield Geoservices U.S. Takes Delivery of ROSON 100 CPT

Bluefield Geoservices U.S., an international subsea geotechnical services provider, recently took delivery of a ROSON 100 CPT unit to support growth plans in the Americas.

2 BluefieldThe CPT, the latest addition to the firm’s expanding portfolio of geotechnical equipment, will be managed by the company’s Newport office, in Rhode Island, and will serve the immediate demands of the offshore renewable energy market in the region.

The highly versatile ROSON 100, manufactured by a.p. van den berg, is rated to 3,000 meters and capable of a CPT depth of 20-30 meters. Deployable via an A-frame, over the side, or through a moon pool, the system facilitates “over the horizon” operations and, therefore, favors the down-manning of at-sea support and, subsequently, the reduction of associated carbon emissions.

“The ROSON 100 is widely regarded as the ideal choice for deep push testing or geotechnical route surveys on projects where assured penetration into challenging soil conditions is required,” said Bluefield Geoservices US Managing Director Bruce Pudney. “As we look to strengthen our footprint in the US and support our clients in the offshore energy sector, this robust and dependable CPT system is a strategically significant addition to our growing portfolio of highly specialized geotechnical equipment in the US.”

Bluefield Geoservices U.S. is supported by a number of key strategic alliances—including CSA Ocean Sciences (CSA) and Ocean Specialists, Inc. (OSI)—and uniquely equipped to offer an integrated end-to-end approach to subsea survey and site investigation services to international offshore energy, infrastructure, government, and scientific markets.
