Quantum Energy Partners (“Quantum”), a leading provider of private equity capital to the global energy industry, and Houston Energy, one of the premier privately-held independent oil and gas companies in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico, announce the formation of HEQ Deepwater (the “Company”) with more than $400 million of equity capital commitments from Quantum and management.

Shell Offshore Inc. (Shell), a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell plc, conducted an initial flyover of their assets in the path of Hurricane Ida. During this initial flight, they observed damage to their West Delta-143 (WD-143) offshore facilities. When it is safe to do so, Shell will send personnel offshore to provide a closer inspection of these facilities to understand the full extent of the damage and the degree to which their production in the Gulf of Mexico will likely be impacted.

LYTT, a provider of real-time operational insights to oil and energy operators through a fiber optic sensor and analytics platform, and SINTEF, an independent institute for applied research that creates innovative energy solutions, are collaborating to demonstrate the effectiveness of novel technology to monitor CO2 transport and migration in storage reservoirs.

On Friday 27 August at 21.25, production started from the Troll phase 3 project in the North Sea. The project has a break-even price below 10 dollars and CO2 emissions of less than 0.1 kg per barrel oil equivalent. The new wells are tied in to the Troll A platform and Troll phase 3 will extend the platform’s life past 2050.  

BOURBON announces that it has been awarded by SHELL a fully integrated logistics package contract comprising of international freight forwarding, integrated logistics services and PSV (Platform Supply Vessel) services to support two deepwater offshore exploration campaigns in Namibia and Sao Tomé.
