Aker BP selected Optime Subsea as a provider of well access system and -services on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). Optime Subsea’s system, Subsea Controls and Intervention Light System (SCILS), have now successfully completed a two well Plug & Abandonment campaign on the Jette field, saving rig time, personnel and equipment.

The Global HSE Conference 2019 as scheduled for 30 September -3 October 2019 will be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain at The Gulf Convention Center. The conference and exhibition is organised under patronage of H.E. Shaikh Mohammad bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil, Kingdom of Bahrain and is being hosted by the three major host partners i.e. National Oil and Gas Authority-Bahrain (NOGA), Saudi Aramco and Bahrain National Gas Company (BANAGAS).

Oceaneering International, Inc., has announced that it has been awarded a contract by Anadarko Moçambique Área 1, Lda, a wholly owned subsidiary of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, to supply umbilicals, distribution hardware, and aftermarket services.

Equinor and its partners Ineos E&P and Faroe Petroleum have made an oil and gas discovery in exploration well Snadd Outer Outer/Black Vulture in production license 159B in the Norwegian Sea. The well had two different reservoir targets; an upper drilling target containing 2-12 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe) of gas and a lower target with an estimated volume of 1-48 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalent.

Cleansorb, a leading provider of patented chemical well treatments that enhance hydrocarbon production for the international oil and gas industry, has announced that following a series of successful ORCA™ for OBM treatments on offshore oil production wells and a water injection well drilled with OBM, increased production and water injectivity have been achieved on behalf of a major operator in the Middle East.

Subsurface Imaging, part of CGG’s Geoscience division, has delivered a step-change in subsalt image quality over the Mad Dog field in the Green Canyon area of the Gulf of Mexico. Through continued investment in imaging technology and supercomputing capacity, CGG was able to reduce project cycle time by almost half while delivering greatly improved subsalt images. Fast access to high-quality images was critical to BP and partners in modifying and optimizing the ongoing drilling program.

Subsurface Imaging, part of CGG’s Geoscience division, has been awarded a landmark processing contract by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). Under its terms, CGG will perform high-end time and depth imaging of massive volumes of very high-spec data from what is believed to be the world’s largest ocean-bottom node (OBN) seismic survey to date.

On behalf of the Johan Sverdrup license, Equinor is awarding the contract for subsea pipelines and associated marine operations in the second project phase to Subsea 7. This will increase the share of contracts awarded to Norwegian suppliers in phase 2 of the Johan Sverdrup project to 85%.

Danos has been awarded multiple contracts with Shell Exploration and Production Company, a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell plc, to provide integrated operations on its Enchilada platform. Danos’ production, construction, scaffolding and coatings service lines are all working on the asset, located approximately 170 miles southwest of New Orleans.

“By working together on the same platform, Danos can integrate operations and share project resources to be more efficient, minimizing both the risk and cost involved,” said owner Mark Danos.

Approximately 80 Danos employees have been contracted for work on Enchilada. The facility upgrade project, which began in April, is expected to last through November. The project requires multiple skill sets, including welders, fitters, riggers, scaffold builders and project managers. And starting mid-June, Danos will perform coatings remediation on over 90,000 square feet of facility infrastructure and production equipment.

In addition to work on Enchilada, Danos has been awarded another contract with Shell Exploration and Production Company for coatings services on the Perdido spar, which is the world’s deepest spar, located 200 miles off the coast of Texas. The contract, which will employ nine new positions, also begins this month.

“Many of our crews have a level of familiarity with Shell assets and a high level of customer service that our clients have come to expect,” said Danos. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to continue providing quality service to Shell.”

Fugro has successfully completed the first of three Malaysian seep hunting and geochemical campaigns for the Provision of Surface Geochemical Survey for Domestic Waters for Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), Malaysia’s fully integrated oil and gas company.
