Oil & Gas News

Trendsetter Engineering, Inc. and Intelligent Wellhead Systems, Inc. have announced the establishment of a joint venture to introduce new technology and services aimed at improving the safety and efficiency of offshore drilling, completion, intervention and abandonment operations.

Abrado Wellbore Services (“Abrado”), a specialist global, expandable section milling plug and abandonment service technology company, has secured a multi-million dollar contract from Chevron’s Environmental Management Company to support the plug and abandonment (P&A) of more than 30 wells offshore California.

Shell’s Appomattox, located in the Gulf of Mexico about 80 miles south of New Orleans, is the first high temperature project to gain Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) approval and begin production. The permitting work for the Appomattox project, which saw first oil in May 2019, helped define and clarify the safety requirements in BSEE’s recently published high pressure and high temperature (HP/HT) related guidance documents.
