The next MTS Houston Section luncheon presentation will be held on April 26, 2018 and will feature a presentation by Evan Zimmerman, Executive Director of the Offshore Operators Committee in the US and Chief Technology Officer of Vryhof Group. Mr. Zimmerman will present Energy Dominance Offshore: A View from the Nexus of Politics, Regulation, Operators and Technology.
The Offshore Operators Committee (OOC) has been a focal point for engagement between offshore operating companies and regulators for more than 70-years. The OOC has filed hundreds of comment letters on proposed and final regulations affecting the offshore energy industry with the goal of increasing safety and efficiency offshore. The OOC has also provided the collaborative space for joint research and the venue where industry’s subject matter experts can come together to address the challenges that face our industry.
Today, more than ever, our industry is facing massive changes in staff, consolidation of companies, commodity price pressures and technology development. How will policy changes, new regulations, industry consolidation and new technology shape our next 10-years in the offshore energy industry?
About the Speaker
Evan Zimmerman has more than two decades of experience in offshore related engineering, technology development and risk management.
Mr. Zimmerman is currently the Executive Director of the Offshore Operators Committee in the US and Chief Technology Officer of Vryhof Group internationally. Mr. Zimmerman has held senior management roles in the offshore oil and gas service sector in the United States, North Sea and Australia.
Mr. Zimmerman holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the South Texas College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering from Texas A&M University. Mr. Zimmerman has received numerous patents for offshore related technology, served in key roles in many industry and academic initiatives, and received many awards for service or accomplishments including a Corporate Leadership Award from the U.S. Department of Interior.
