China Oil and Gas Enterprises Methane Emission Control Alliance Set Up

On May 18, the China Oil and Gas Enterprises Methane Emission Control Alliance was established in Beijing and issued the "China Oil and Gas Enterprises Methane Emission Control Alliance Initiative Declaration."

The alliance was jointly initiated by PetroChina, Sinopec and CNOOC, with National Pipeline Network, Beijing Gas, China Resources Gas, and ENN Energy as its founding members. The alliance is focused on promoting technology and experience exchange in the field of methane emission control between alliance members and that between the alliance and other domestic and foreign enterprises, bolstering research and adoption of methane emission control standards, pushing for standardization and transparency of industry emission data, publishing industrial reports regularly and sharing the best practices of China's oil and gas enterprises in the field.

The alliance members will jointly take actions to incorporate methane emission control into their carbon emission reduction plans and improve the level of methane emission control in an all-round way.
