NHO India Orders RESON Echosounders from Teledyne Marine

Teledyne Marine is proud to have been rewarded the contract for the supply of 2 RESON HydroSweep DS Deep Water multibeam echosounder systems by Indian Naval Hydrographic Office (NHO).

The first of the two systems have now been delivered and successfully installed on one of the Ship with assistance from our authorized service provider Pan India Consultants PVT. LTD.

The newly delivered and installed deep water system is a RESON HydroSweep DS multibeam echosounder system ideally suited for seabed mapping in deep water up to full ocean depth based on a sonar frequency between 14 kHz to 16 kHz acquiring bathymetric depth information from 10 m to more than 11,000 m. The system also acquires side scan data and backscatter data for seabed classification. The HydroSweep DS also identifies sonar targets in the water column and can be optionally operated as a parametric sub-bottom profiler without additional transducers and electronics.

The Ship on which the system has been fitted is operated by the National Hydrographic Office of India. It performs survey tasks for hydrographic charting in the Indian Ocean. The newly installed multibeam echosounder system will increase the total survey capacity of the Indian NHO and further enhancing deep water multibeam capabilities.

“We are very happy that the NHO once again chose survey systems from Teledyne Marine to perform the important tasks they do,” says Stefan Könnecke Technical Sales Director, Deep Water Systems Teledyne Marine, “and that we as a supplier with help from our service partner Pan India in these difficult times could deliver on time successfully. We are looking forward to have our systems sea trialed, handed over and being utilized extensively through-out current and next survey seasons to come.”

The second system will be installed in the next weeks on another survey ship of NHO. Over the next years Teledyne Marine and PAN India have been contracted supply and installation of further four systems to the Indian NHO fleet.
