Deep Down, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: DPDW), an oilfield services company specializing in complex deepwater and ultra-deepwater oil production distribution system support services, has announced it has teamed up with Core Industries ("CORE") to permanently locate a 3,200 MT Carousel System (the "Carousel") at CORE's deepwater port facility near Mobile, Alabama. The Carousel is currently under construction and will be ready in the fourth quarter 2010.

CORE's deepwater port in Alabama is an ideal location for Deep Down to provide its customers with umbilical storage capability on its Carousel, which in turn provides substantial savings to the customer when mobilizing for an offshore job. The customer will be able to spool the umbilicals onto the installation vessel and simultaneously load out the vessel with the remaining requirements. Deep Down will also be able to perform full scale Systems Integration Testing ("SIT") and have installation equipment on site that supports the Carousel available to rent to installation contractors for immediate mobilization.

Ronald E. Smith, Chief Executive Officer stated, "Teamed with Core Industries' marine handling capabilities at their deepwater facility and Deep Down's innovative deepwater services and equipment make up a combination of 'Can-Do' contractors which could very well become the premier staging area for the ultra-deepwater Gulf of Mexico and a launching pad to areas even further South. I am proud to place our Carousel and supporting equipment at Core Industries and offer the kind of services to our customers they deserve. The simple fact that we can perform SIT and other valuable testing of systems offline so that we can find the problems before they become the customers deepwater problems will be an incredible project safeguard that will bring added value to our customers." Morgan B. Myles, President, Core Industries, Inc., stated, "We are pleased to add Deep Down, Inc. to the list of innovative deepwater oil and gas installation contractors who call Core Industries facility, Theodore Industrial Port, their Base of Operations. We are excited to work with Deep Down and its talented team for the installation of their new storage carousel and look forward to providing our facility and services for Systems Integration Testing and other Deep Down projects. We have no doubt that much success will come for both companies from hosting this Carousel and that the result will be the highest quality project."

When BEEMAR, LLC rolled out a fleet of state-of-the-art Dynamic Positioning 2 (DP-2) Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs), they needed a global broadband maritime communications solution that could match the high-tech demands of these new vessels and of their customers. BEEMAR chose Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES) and Environmental Safety Systems International, Inc (ESSI) to fulfill this mission.

Hughes, the global leader in broadband satellite networks and services, is equipping BEEMAR's entire fleet of platform supply vessels with its fully managed maritime solution in partnership with ESSI Corporation, a systems integrator specializing in maritime industries. The comprehensive Hughes solution includes high-speed Internet access, voice, email, video, and on-board Wi-Fi. In addition to supporting critical operational communications and data exchange, the solution is an important morale-boosting amenity for the crew, providing a vital ship-to-shore link for workers who often spend weeks offshore.

"Our vessels support everything from deepwater oil production, deep shelf exploration, offshore and sub-sea construction, to seismic and special well service support. In all cases, fast Internet services are required to coordinate resources and personnel, and to enable workers to keep in touch with their families. Because Hughes manages it all for us, it's one less thing for us to worry about," said Darrel Plaisance, BEEMAR's vice president and Chief Operating Officer.

These advanced Dynamic Positioning-2 vessels use computer controls to automatically maintain the ship's position with thrusters and propellers, rather than dropping anchor. The advanced precision technology enables BEEMAR's fleet to provide offshore support to oil rigs, pipelines, surveying contractors, and other operations in the Gulf of Mexico and international markets. The Hughes solution extends satellite broadband services for BEEMAR's vessels to the Mediterranean, Red Sea, Caribbean, and off the coast of Mexico. For example, a BEEMAR DP-2 ship supporting an offshore surveying project in the Red Sea is able to transmit real-time data to the customer's Houston headquarters for analysis, greatly reducing remote staffing and travel costs. In addition, the company is able to perform remote diagnostics on critical system electronics that keep the vessels operational at sea.

"Hughes looks forward to being an integral part of BEEMAR's aggressive expansion plans," said Vinod Shukla, senior vice president, International Division, Hughes. "Communications is a key aspect of the safety-focused culture on vessels and our Hughes Broadband Maritime Solution has once again lived up to the high expectations of the crew. The use of our service on BEEMAR's high-tech vessels in the Gulf of Mexico and Red Sea/Mediterranean regions is a strong endorsement of our superior offering."

ESSI has installed gyro-stabilized maritime satellite antennas on seven of the PSV fleet to date, with five more ships under construction.

"ESSI is very proud to be servicing BEEMAR, one of the most professional and well-equipped boat companies in the region," said Mr. Kim Adams, president of ESSI Corporation. "These vessels utilize the 60cm and 1m stabilized VSAT antennas, different service plans, and sophisticated network designs, to ensure the best fit for their use and for their customers. ESSI specializes in meeting advanced requirements like these."

Downline Deployment Heralds New Era For Composites in Deepwater Pipeline Commissioning

DeepFlex has announced one of its all-composite flexible pipes has been used by Saipem S.p.A. to commission a deepwater export line offshore Brazil for Petrobras. The Saipem vessel Normand Cutter deployed the DeepFlex downline in 1500 meters of water to prepare the 174 kilometer, 18 inch Urugua export pipeline for operation in the Santos basin.

The DeepFlex pipe is substantially lighter weight than alternative solutions resulting in lower deployment costs and reduced operational risk.  The three-inch internal diameter downline was connected to a subsea commissioning structure and deployed in harsh conditions for over 30 days with ocean swells of five to seven meters.

Michael C. Kearney, DeepFlex President and CEO said, "This application highlights the importance of composite solutions as the industry moves into deeper water. The ability to rapidly deploy lightweight pipe with our proprietary design allowed Saipem to utilize less costly installation equipment while successfully meeting project objectives.  We believe our downline solution will become the standard for future deepwater pipeline commissioning."
